Comments from 2001-2 Redundancies

I would like to take the opportunity to say thanks to you for all the help and advice you have provided us in UKME even though we are outside your remit of MAN05.

Thanks for your assistance today. Our discussion was very helpful.

I have been following you and your colleagues' activities during your current redundancy programme with interest. I'm impressed by your efforts to try to get the company to avoid making any compulsory redundancies.

Keep up the pressure on the company to stick to the rules and I wish you the best of luck although it's obvious that luck may not figure too highly in the process. Hard work and vigilance does and I congratulate you all for the way you are supporting and representing the members. I hope you succeed in avoiding any compulsory redundancies.

Thank you very much for continuing to keep me informed during these difficult times. I am not as active as I once was but I am incredibly impressed by the way you and the reps have handled this situation.
In the longer run I'm sure it will translate into a larger membership of the Union.

Keep up the good work!

I think you are all doing a great job over all this. If you continue to write such good communications, make your major points clearly but using brevity and the ability to summarise succinctly without compromising accuracy there may well be a management position in HR waiting for you!

I am enormously impressed by your and the others sterling efforts, keep up the good work.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and all the union reps at MAN05 and AMICUS in general for all the hard work you have put in during this period. I hope this will be the last but don't think it will be so keep up the good work.

Although I've not been a member for long, and I've not personally been affected by this round of rationalisation, I've obviously been keeping my eye on your e-mails etc and I think you and your team have done a fantastic job.

So thanks and keep up the good work.

Thanks for all your solid advice and help, especially as I am very aware there are many of my fellows in a less fortunate position than myself.

Thanks for your efforts and for taking the time to update me.

Good luck with your campaigns.

thanks for your efforts

Thank you for all your effort. Please keep up the good work. Can you let me know what I need to do to continue my membership of AMICUS once I have left.

Best Wishes and thanks for all your help

Thanks for all your efforts .

Can I take this opportunity to express my thanks to you and all the reps at Man05 for the excellent help and advice you have given during this redundancy exercise. I have always found yourself willing to help at all times but the workload you have had to deal with during this exercise has been exceptional. All the advice on my rights along with making the company follow agreed procedures has been superb. This kind of support is exactly what I am in the union for.

I would just like to thank you for your time and effort on my behalf when you are so very busy. I greatly appreciate your help and am only sorry you had to give up so much of your day when to outcome was unlikey to be anything other than it was. I think you did a really good job for me, I was certainly impressed.

Wishing you and the other reps every success in the future.

having been a member of the Union for approaching 30 years, I didn't want to leave without expressing my appreciation to yourself and the rest of the committee for all the effort you put in, particularly as I suspect it must often seem a thankless task.

Thank for all the work you are doing.

I'm sure that your role can be thankless at times. I'd just like to put on record how impressed I have been with "your" actions & willingness to keep us informed. Based on my past experience, I had become disillusioned about the effectiveness of unions (hence my reticence about joining) but you are going some way to restoring my faith.

Thanks for your help.

Congratulations on early this afternoon - I think that you made a lot of well spoken points. Over the last few meetings, my views on how the company treat their employees have changed considerably, this is thanks to the facts and evidence put before us. Thanks again to you and your team for representing us.

Thanks for your help (especially for the Dunlop Court of Appeal judgment details you dug up) and for anyone else who has put in a word for us.

Ta very muchly

No answer expected, your swift responses and my mis-reading of the bullet points leave me feeling warm and cosy about unions once more!! I simply wanted to make a point which I felt to an extent was being overlooked.

Thanks for the recent information and advice from the union solicitors.

Thanks for following that up so quickly

Good to know you are on the case

Thanks for your help,

Thanks for your help in the meeting, it was much appreciated,

Thanks so much for being there - you know what I mean.

Thanks for all the updates on the rationalisation.

Thanks for the explanation.

Thanks Ian - can I use MAN05 as a precedent?

Thanks Ian for the link it will be helpful.

Thanks very much, Ian. Yes, it does help.

Thank God I joined the Union in time!

Thanks for the advice, as always.

Thanks for getting an answer,

First let me say thanks for the MSF website and what good work you all have done on it. And thanks too for letting all us non-union folks have access to it.

Thanks for the reply, I'll forward it to the team.

Thanks for this. I have passed these notes around various people in GLA15. Keep up the good work in West Gorton.

Thanks for the information.

Many thanks for the updates

Thanks for your efforts so far.

Now I understand. Very good comments.

Thanks - I didn't know this.

Thanks for the update.

Thanks again for offer of help.

My thanks go to the MSF site for mentioning that those who signed up to professional communities (some 3 or 4 years ago) are entitled to the M Grade severance payments and I now have an improved quote.

I have seen your websites, very impressive.

Many thanks for the excellent work you are all doing at MAN05.

What a truly excellent letter to Deidre, NICE WORK!
